Africa ELTA and TIRF Formalize Partnership to Advance English Language Education

Africa English Language Teachers Association (Africa ELTA) and The International Research Foundation for English Language Education (TIRF) are pleased to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), marking the beginning of a collaborative relationship between the two organizations.

This partnership reflects a shared commitment to strengthening English language education through global engagement, knowledge exchange, and professional collaboration. The two organizations bring complementary strengths to this relationship— Africa ELTA through its expansive network of educators and professional development initiatives across the African continent and TIRF through its focus on research, funding, and dissemination.

The MOU provides a framework for ongoing dialogue and cooperation, encouraging both organizations to explore opportunities that connect research, policy, and classroom practice. While specific initiatives will evolve over time, the agreement signals a mutual interest in fostering meaningful engagement among educators, researchers, and institutions in diverse contexts.

This collaboration is grounded in a spirit of openness and shared learning. By facilitating communication and raising awareness of each organization’s work, Africa ELTA and TIRF aim to support professional exchange and engagement among educators and researchers. As both organizations look ahead, the partnership offers a foundation for continued dialogue and potential collaboration in areas of shared interest within English language education.
