Artificial intelligence is rapidly changing how languages are taught, learned, assessed, and researched. As educators and institutions navigate these developments, opportunities to exchange ideas and learn from one another have become more important than ever. That is precisely the role AI4ELE 2026 seeks to play.

On October 24–25, 2026, TIRF will once again partner with Beijing Normal–Hong Kong Baptist University (BNBU) to co-host the International Conference on Artificial Intelligence for English Language Education (AI4ELE) in Zhuhai, China. Building on the momentum of last year’s successful inaugural conference, AI4ELE 2026 will bring together educators, researchers, policymakers, and educational leaders from around the world to examine the evolving relationship between AI and language education.

The conference program will feature keynote presentations, interactive workshops, panel discussions, and practical demonstrations addressing topics such as classroom innovation, language assessment, teacher education, curriculum design, research, ethics, and policy. Throughout the event, participants will explore not only what AI can do, but also how it can be integrated responsibly and effectively into educational practice.

For TIRF, AI4ELE represents one part of a broader commitment to supporting the profession as AI continues to influence language education. Alongside initiatives such as the AI Show & Tell webinar series, the AI Ethics: Policy Guidance for Language Education paper, and a growing collection of freely available AI resources, the conference provides another opportunity to connect research, policy, and practice while fostering international collaboration.

As conversations about AI continue to evolve, AI4ELE 2026 will provide an important forum for sharing experiences, identifying emerging challenges, and exploring innovative approaches that can help shape the future of English language education.
