The British Council has recently opened its annual competition for its Assessment Research Awards and Grants (ARAGs). All ARAG applications are due February 4, 2020. Continue reading below to learn more.

A statement about the ARAGs, as found on the British Council website, follows here: “If you’re involved or work in research into assessment, then our Assessment Research Awards and Grants might interest you. These awards recognise achievement and innovation within the field of language assessment and support our research activities across the world. The awards and grants are aimed at both research students and more experienced researchers in the area of assessment. In addition to the formal awards and grants, we may, on occasion, support requests from researchers in the areas of assessment, applied linguistics and second language acquisition which are identified as contributing significantly to our knowledge in the area of assessment.”

Individuals interested in the ARAGs will want to note that there are four different grant and award categories, including: (1) Assessment Research Grants; (2) Assessment Research Awards; (3) International Assessment Award; and (4) Innovation in Assessment Prize. On the British Council website, individuals may also access information about how proposals will be evaluated.
