Dear TIRF Board Members and Supporters,
As we step into the Lunar New Year, we find ourselves entering the Year of the Snake, a time rich with symbolism and the promise of new beginnings. I want to take this opportunity to reflect on the incredible work we’ve done at TIRF and look ahead to the potential that this new year brings.
The snake is often regarded as a symbol of wisdom, transformation, and strategy. Just as the snake sheds its skin, we too have the opportunity to evolve, reimagine, and refine our approaches. This year, let us embrace the wisdom of the snake—deepening our understanding of how to best empower learners in the era of AI, and becoming ever more innovative in our research agenda and strategies to enhance English language education worldwide.

In this spirit, I encourage us all to reflect on the ways we can tap into our collective strengths to push forward with purpose and impact. Whether through robust research agendae, strategic partnerships, innovative services, new technologies, or bold new ideas, the Year of the Snake reminds us that transformation is not only possible but necessary.
Let us also remember that the snake symbolizes patience, discipline, and precision—qualities that will guide us as we build on the strong foundation we’ve established. Our mission is ambitious, and it requires us to think strategically, act with foresight, and, above all, remain committed to excellence in everything we do.
I’m deeply grateful for your unwavering support and for the role each of you plays in the success of TIRF. Together, we have the power to take our mission to even greater heights in 2025, and I have every confidence that this will be a year marked by extraordinary growth, new opportunities, and lasting impact.
I look forward to working alongside you all in the months ahead as we continue to transform the future of English language education and create a lasting legacy of excellence for generations to come.
Wishing you all health, prosperity, and an abundance of wisdom in this Year of the Snake.
Warm regards,

Jun Liu, PhD
