We are happy to share with our supporters that Dr. Anna Krulatz has been elected to serve as TIRF’s newest Board of Trustees member. Just this month, she was unanimously approved to serve alongside her fellow Board members.

Dr. Krulatz is a Professor of English in the Department of Teacher Education at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. She received her M.A. in English from the University of Warsaw and a Ph.D. in linguistics from the University of Utah. She has worked with language teachers in Europe and the United States. Her current research focuses on multilingualism with English, pragmatic development in adult language learners, content-based instruction, and language teacher education.

Anna has published numerous peer-reviewed articles, teaching tips, and book chapters, including Enacting Multilingualism: From Research to Teaching Practice in the English Classroom (2018; a co-publication with Anne Dahl and Mona Flognfeldt) and an edited volume Handbook of Research on Cultivating Literacy in Diverse and Multilingual Classrooms (2020; co-edited with Georgios Neokleous and Raichle Farrelly). Through her active involvement with the international TESOL community and focus on professional development for teachers, she aims to promote culturally and linguistically inclusive classrooms and an asset view of multilingualism, regardless of the status of the languages in learners’ repertoires.

In replying to our query about what serving as a TIRF Trustee means to her, Anna replied, “I am both honored and humbled to have been elected to the TIRF Board of Trustees. Language learning and teaching are my lifelong passions, and I am excited to join so many renowned colleagues and to contribute to TIRF’s mission to improve language learning and teaching practice around the world through novel research.”

Please join us in welcoming Anna to the TIRF community!
