The 2017 TESOL International Convention and English Language Expo is just a few weeks away. We would like to invite you to join us in Seattle for our annual presentation and networking opportunity. The session will be held on Friday, March 24th from 1:00 to 2:30pm in Room 604 of the Convention Center in Seattle.
On behalf of the Foundation, Dr. Denise Murray (Professor Emeritus at Macquarie University and at San José State University) and TIRF Trustee Dr. MaryAnn Christison (Professor at the University of Utah) will give their talk “Online Language Teacher Education: Participants’ Perceptions and Experiences.” This presentation provides an overview of research that Dr. Murray and Dr. Christison have recently completed on the topic of online language teacher education (OLTE).
The authors will present findings based on the 446 questionnaires they collected from OLTE teacher educators and their students. The findings include but are not limited to why participants chose OLTE, the configurations of OLTE, and the participants’ preferences for different tools and configurations.
The present study is follow-up research to a TIRF-commissioned study Dr. Murray conducted in 2012. This research has been made possible through funding provided by TIRF Trustee Dr. David Nunan and Anaheim University.
We will be offering coffee and tea free of charge to all of our attendees. Please mark your calendars and plan on joining us. See you in Seattle!
