The 2023 East Coast Organization of Language Testers (ECOLT) conference will be held on Friday, October 27, 2023. For the first time since 2019, the conference will be held in-person at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.

ECOLT is hosted jointly by the Assessment and Evaluation Language Resource Center (AELRC) at Georgetown University and the Center for Applied Linguistics (CAL). The conference works to create learning opportunities and strengthen relationships between East Coast language testing professionals, scholars, and students. The conference also aims to connect academia, K-12 education, government, and for- and not-for-profit testing organizations.

This year’s plenary speaker is Priya Abeywickrama, Professor of English at San Francisco State University, whose work combines language assessment with issues in second language literacy and oral skills. In 2018, Dr. Abeywickrama co-authored the third edition of Language Assessment: Principles and Classroom Practices with Henry Douglas Brown.

The deadline for proposals is April 30, 2023. For more information regarding proposal submissions, event registration, and conference workshops, please visit the ECOLT website.
