The nomination window for the 2026 TIRF James E. Alatis Prize for Research in Language Policy and Planning in Educational Contexts is closing soon. All proposals must be submitted by October 5, 2025.

As in past years, for the 2026 program, a prize of $500 will be awarded for an article or chapter published in English and dealing with some aspect of language policy and/or planning in educational contexts. We invite nominations of outstanding articles or chapters that were published during calendar years of 2024 or 2025.

The 2026 Alatis Prize competition marks the eleventh year of TIRF offering the program. This year’s deadline for nominations is October 5, 2025, as mentioned above. To learn more about this year’s competition, including nomination procedures, important dates, and past recipients, please click here.
