EALTA (European Association for Language Testing and Assessment) is hosting its 22nd annual conference from June 9-14, 2026 at the University for Foreigners of Siena in Italy. The theme of the event is “Literacies Across Different Stakeholder Groups.”
The role of language assessment literacy of different stakeholders involved in the assessment process has been a central concept within the field of language testing and assessment. This conference seeks to explore the evolving constellation of literacies shaping our field today, with contributions that examine theoretical perspectives, share empirical insights, and highlight innovative practices, with a focus on how literacies can be developed and sustained across contexts.

The EALTA conference will include keynote addresses by experts in the field. David Carless will open the conference with the British Council Jamie Dunlea Lecture entitled “Assessment and Feedback Literacies in the Context of GenAI: The Centrality of Design.” The closing keynote will be delivered by Mari D’Agostino with her talk entitled “New Migrations Between Plurilingual Repertoires and Literacy.”
