Organizers of the Language Assessment Research Conference (LARC) 2024 are currently offering its call for papers. In this piece, we share information about how you can get involved.
LARC 2024 will take place April 11-13, 2024 under the theme of “Finding Balance in Language Assessment.” The organizers at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah share the following guiding questions for those interested in attending and presenting at the event:
- How do we create assessments that are fair to organizations that need to know language learner abilities and to the language learners themselves?
- How do we balance the time-consuming process of validating assessments with the innovator’s push to “move fast and break things”?
- How do we create tests that are affordable and accessible to even the most disadvantaged while fairly paying the professionals with the expertise needed to create, validate, and rate the assessments?
