The newest iteration of TIRF’s “Alumni Map” is now available!

Just last month, the Foundation announced the 2021 TIRF Doctoral Dissertation Grant (DDG) recipients. Via this year’s DDG competition, another 15 doctoral students were awarded funds from TIRF to help them complete their research and present their findings at international conferences. This year’s awardees hail from seven different countries: Brazil, China, Costa Rica, Scotland, South Korea, Turkey, and the USA. Each of the 2021 DDG awardees and information about their studies are provided in the “Alumni Map.”

All but one of the continents of the world (Antarctica) are represented by TIRF’s 170 DDG awardees. Also featured on TIRF’s “Alumni Map” are awardees of grants provided by the Foundation in years past, including TIRF Priority Research Grant recipients, TIRF Sheikh Nahayan Fellows, and TIRF Masters Research Grant recipients. There are different icons and colors used in the map to denote the type of grant the individual received, as well as, for DDG awardees, the year in which they were awarded.

We hope that you’ll find the map interesting and that you agree it truly demonstrates the “I” in “TIRF” (as in, “International”) of the work we do!
