TIRF’s Board members recently reelected four long-standing TIRF Trustees. Kathi Bailey, Donna Christian, MaryAnn Christison, and Lorraine de Matos will continue to serve the Foundation for at least the next three years. These four Trustees bring a combined 50+ years of experience in serving the Foundation.

Kathi Bailey is a Professor of Applied Linguistics at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey. As Chair of the TIRF Board of Trustees and President of the Foundation, Kathi helps to advance TIRF’s various programmatic areas of activity and contributes significantly to the Foundation’s day-to-day business and operations.

MaryAnn Christison is a Professor in the Department of Linguistics and a faculty member in the Urban Institute for Teachers at the University of Utah. As Chair of TIRF’s Research Advisory Committee, MaryAnn overseas TIRF’s Doctoral Dissertation Grants program, Masters Research Grants program, and helps to inform the direction of TIRF’s Research Topics, which help to guide the work of the Foundation.

Donna Christian is a Senior Fellow at the Center for Applied Linguistics in Washington, DC. As Secretary-Treasurer of TIRF, Donna not only prepares TIRF’s annual budgets and oversees its financial health; she also contributes to TIRF’s Alatis Prize program and publications activities.

Lorraine de Matos is on the Executive Board and a member of the Philanthropy Committee of the Associação Samaritano, and also on the Administrative and Financial Board of the Célia Helena Centro de Artes e Educação, both in Brazil. As a long-time member of TIRF’s Executive Committee, Lorraine brings a career of business experience to TIRF, helping the Foundation manage its operations and offer its programs and services in fiscally responsible ways.

In addition to the continuing Trustees named above, members of TIRF’s Executive Committee have been reelected to serve additional two-year terms in their roles. Kathi Bailey will continue as TIRF’s President, Jun Liu as Vice President, Donna Christian as Secretary-Treasurer, and Lorraine de Matos and David Nunan as Executive Committee members.
