Editor’s note: The following information has been shared with TIRFers by Ms. Jennifer L. Uhler, Branch Chief, Office of English Language Programs, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, US State Department.

The Office of English Language Programs in the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State has recently started a new initiative for domestic outreach to U.S. teachers and partners. As part of that initiative, the office recently published its second newsletter on May 11 (see bit.ly/MayNewsECA_A_L).  The purpose of this newsletter is to reconnect with scholars and practitioners and invite universities, non-profit, and private sector partners to participate in exchange and other English language teaching programs. Through this newsletter, we also seek to deepen connections between the U.S. TESOL community and our Regional English Language Officers and existing programs overseas. For TIRF readers, the newsletter presents multiple opportunities to connect with global audiences and extend the reach of their English language teaching and learning programs and resources.
