TIRF’s work truly knows no bounds, at least geographically! To help demonstrate the internationalism involved in our work, we add information about our latest grantees to the TIRF Alumni Map each year. This year, we added once again our most recent TIRF Doctoral Dissertation Grant (DDG) and TIRF-British Council Research Mentoring Award (RMA) recipients but also added the inaugural TIRF Bailey Award (BA) recipients. As you will see from the map, the reach of TIRF’s programs is growing in countries where we previously had limited activity.

The TIRF Alumni Map provides information about the DDG, RMA, and Bailey Award recipients, including their names, hometowns, titles of their studies, and, for the DDG recipients, links to summaries of their ground-breaking research. Supporters can also see information about other TIRF alumni – individuals who received a Masters Research Grant, a Priority Research Grant, and a Sheikh Nahayan Fellowship in years past.

As of September 2024, TIRF’s DDG program alone has resulted in supporting 208 grantees from many regions of the world. The DDG recipients awarded this year come from the following countries: Brazil, Burkina Faso, China, Ireland, Lebanon, the Philippines, Russia, South Korea, Tunisia, USA, and Uzbekistan. The RMA recipients are from Chile, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Tanzania, and Vietnam. Finally, the first Bailey Award recipients are from Cameroon, Ireland, Kenya, Nepal, and the USA.
