TIRF’s Mid-year Appeal: The Dust Begins to Settle

Monterey, California, USA – Greetings, faithful readers! Your intrepid intern reporter, Wyatt Boykin here. This month’s dispatch comes to you even as the dust of the battlefield has not yet fully settled, nor has the fog of war completely lifted.

It has truly been a contest for the ages – Kathi “Boss” Bailey vs. Ryan “Daring” Damerow in a grueling two-month quest to see who can recruit the most new TIRF donors, with the loser compelled to donate 20% of his/her next paycheck as tribute.

The deadline is drawing nigh, and the combatants are neck and neck: As of August 30th, Boss Bailey has contacted 128 people, resulting in 25 new donors, while Daring Damerow has contacted 119 people, resulting in 26 new donors.

When asked for comments, Daring Damerow said, “I gave Boss Bailey ample warning that my gloves were coming off during the late stages of our bout, and that in order to win, she best bring her A game. What she perhaps didn’t realize was that her A+ game would be required.”

In reply, Bailey said, “Haarrruummpphhh!!! Just because he has a slightly higher percent of contactees actually becoming first-time donors, that doesn’t necessarily mean that Damerow will win this contest. There is still time for my efforts to produce new donors and surpass his count.” Then, perhaps thinking of Damerow’s comment about her needing the bring her “A+ game” to this duel, Bailey grinned and added this comment: “I’d just like to point out to all my former students – particularly those of you for whom I’ve written letters of recommendation – becoming a new donor for TIRF is an ideal way to contribute to our shared profession.”

Dear readers, there are only hours remaining and YOU have the power to tip the scales! If you can’t imagine living in a world in which the Bailey dynasty endures, donate to Team Damerow right now!
