To help illustrate the international impact of TIRF’s work, the Foundation maintains a map of its grant recipients’ hometowns, a resource that we refer to as “TIRF’s Alumni Map.” Each year, after funding decisions are made for its grant programs – the TIRF Doctoral Dissertation Grants, and, as of 2019, its Masters Research Grants – the newly funded awardees are added to the map.
As of September 2019, TIRF’s programs have resulted in 151 grantees from many regions of the world, including Australia, Cambodia, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, England, Iran, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Nepal, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Pakistan, the Philippines, Russia, Scotland, Sudan, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, the United States, and Vietnam.
